The first movie in the outernet

Animal Superpowers

The ant apparatus allows you to feel like an ant by magnifying your vision 50x through microscope antennas in your hand.

The bird device, which uses a GPS system and vibrates when you’re oriented in a certain direction, say towards an ice cream shop, home, or your pet. It approximates birds’ detection of geomagnetic fields to find their way south in the winter and north in the spring.

The giraffe device is really simple and has a very direct effect. It acts as a child to adult converter by changing your voice to lower octaves and raising your perspective by 30cm. Kids can suddenly see on the same level as adults, allowing kids to experience a new perspective.

Facebook knows who we want to be, while Google knows who we actually are.

You will be given the choice of opting out, of course. But think about it: can you see yourself leaving Facebook today? Now fast forward a few months, a year. Imagine what it will be like once all of your communication goes through Facebook; quitting won’t be an option.

Customer experience is bigger than customer service in that it is the full, end-to-end experience. It starts when you first hear about Amazon from a friend, and ends when you get the package in the mail and open it.

How can brands known for physical products, not services, engage their customers like the service industry does? How will designers of physical and digital experiences create products that make this possible? To create these service-age gadgets, we must look at the methods used in Service Design, a discipline that is quickly coming into the spotlight.

The default reaction of most print publishers since the advent of the Internet has almost always been “Let’s make it just like print.” It’s been tried again and again and it never works. So the fact that publishers are trying it yet again on the iPad doesn’t strike me as experimentation at all.
